Since I was a child and discovered the black
and white images playing on late night television, I have loved
movies from the classic era. Over the years I have collected many
items from the Golden Era of Hollywood. These include scripts,
posters, lobby cards, photos and props. When I am often asked about
many of the stars of this era, the names that come up the most are
Bogart, Gable, Cooper (Gary), Davis (Bette) and Harlow. As Jean
died on June 7, 1937, at the age of just twenty-six, her brief
career is the one modern movie fans seem to know the least about.
Thus, this page is intended to introduce some of the wonderful
photos from her career in hopes that it will inspire more people to
catch her movies on TCM, on tapes and DVDs. Watch a few films such
as "Bombshell," "China Seas," "Red Dust," "Wife vs. Secretary,"
"Libeled Lady" and "Dinner At Eight," and you will understand why
Jean Harlow was one of the most popular stars of her era.
